The following facts are presented in the brochure (you can find more facts with references under “Q&A”):
- The climate crisis is urgent and we need to do everything possible to immediately reduce emissions.1
- The average person in OECD countries emits 10 tonnes of greenhouse gases per year.2 We need to decrease emissions to 1 tonne per person by 2050 at the latest3 (by 2030, they need to be reduced to no more than 2.1 tonnes4).
- Some figures about the world’s population:
- 1 percent account for 50 % of aviation emissions.5
- 2-4 percent fly abroad in a given year.5
- ~80 percent have never flown.6
